NVH / ANTI-RATTLE MATERIALS

We stock a range of felts and non-woven materials suitable for various automotive anti-rattle and NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) applications.

NVH and anti-squeak/rattle materials are essential in automotive interior trim to enhance comfort and perceived quality. These materials reduce unwanted sounds and vibrations caused by mechanical movement, road input and component interaction.

Common NVH materials include polyurethane foams, felt, non-woven fabrics including 3M Thinsulate, elastomers and acoustic barriers that absorb, isolate or dampen noise and vibration.

Anti-squeak and rattle (ASR) materials such as flocked tapes, low-friction films (e.g. PTFE), fabric tapes and soft gaskets are applied between contact surfaces to prevent friction-induced noise. These solutions are strategically integrated behind panels, around clips or along joint lines in doors, dashboards, consoles and headliners.

By combining tailored mechanical damping, acoustic absorption and friction control, NVH and ASR materials significantly improve cabin quietness and tactile quality, contributing to a refined and premium interior experience.
