In response to the global Covid-19 pandemic LJA Miers repurposed its manufacturing facility to produce much needed PPE for the NHS and other public facing users.
As a result, Mio-Shield full face visor was developed within 10 days. Once CE marked this face shield was sold directly to the NHS. Based on our design, ease of use, price, and quality a contract was soon awarded by the Department of Health and Social Care.
The development of Mio-Shield established a solid relationship with Cambridge University Hospitals Trust, Clinical Engineering and Innovation. This partnership led to a joint development project resulting in the Panoramic Mio-Mask. This transparent face mask is a registered class I medical device. CE marking has again led to direct orders from numerous NHS trusts.
This rapid response philosophy is also being directed towards other products to assist in overcoming this global crisis.
